Candidates Announced for Torry/Ferryhill By-Election

Parties have fielded candidates for the upcoming by-election for the Torry/Ferryhill ward following the resignation of the SNP's Cllr. Catriona Mackenzie.

The seven candidates who have been put forward for the vote on November 21st are:
Audrey Nicoll - Scottish National Party
Willie Young - Labour
Neil Murray - Scottish Conservative and Unionist
Simon Paul McLean - Independent
Gregor McAbery - Liberal Democrats
Betty Lion - Green Party
Roy Hill - UKIP
Still currently serving the ward is Yvonne Allan (Labour), Christian Allard (SNP) and Alan Donnelly (Conservatives).
Whether or not the SNP can retain their seat here is unclear, with several weeks of campaigning ahead for prospective candidates to have their cases heard.
Over the next month leading up to the by-election, Governing Grampian will be speaking with candidates from the four main parties about their manifestos, key policies and hopes for the ward if they succeed on November 21st.
